On Friday morning, I was a full-time, salaried Web and print designer. The shop I was working
for had been hit pretty hard by the economic downturn, going from a team of 6 to a team of
3—the two owners and me—in less than a year. Work had dwindled, and costs remained high.
So they let me go.
